On Thursday, Target announced a significant breach in their payments data, which may impact shoppers who made credit or debit card purchases in their stores from November 27 to December 15 of this year.
In light of this announcement, Consumers Credit Union reassures members that your debit and credit cards are protected with the highest standards of fraud monitoring services.
Visa and MasterCard are currently researching the extent of the data breach. Our Card Services team is working closely with them and our fraud monitoring service to minimize any effects on our members and will act accordingly as we learn more.
In the meantime, if you are concerned that your cards may have been compromised, please regularly review your credit and debit transaction history and account statements and alert us to any irregularities. We will work with you to swiftly research the issue, return any funds lost as a result of fraudulent activity, close your compromised card, and issue you a new one.

Proceed with caution if you receive an email from Target. Do not open any links that may be included in these emails, as that could potentially allow additional access to your personal information.
