Consumers Credit Union’s wellness program has again been recognized as both a 2017 Healthiest Employer recipient and a 2017 Best & Brightest in Wellness award winner.
Some of the program’s perks include subsidized gym memberships; a supply of fruit and healthy snacks in break rooms; outstanding health insurance; private sessions with wellness coaches; incentives/app tracking for establishing healthy habits; and a free a biometric health screening.
“The goal of our wellness initiative is to increase the long-term health and well-being of every Consumers employee and his or her family,” said Shawn Premer, Consumers’ chief human resources officer. “Employee satisfaction is an important part of our culture, and our commitment to corporate wellness is just one reason Consumers is consistently recognized as a first-rate employer.”
The Healthiest Employer Award Program is scored on six critical elements of workplace wellness, including culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.
Michigan’s Best and Brightest in Wellness® recognition is bestowed to organizations exhibiting outstanding quality and excellence programs in health and wellness. This is Consumers’ sixth year in row for winning the award from MicBusiness, Michigan Food and Beverage Association and Corp! magazine.
In fact, the credit union is regularly recognized, both regionally and nationally, for its wellness, onboarding and training programs. Initiatives that foster employee satisfaction are an integral part of Consumers’ corporate culture, encouraged from the highest levels down. This is one reason Consumers is considered one of the best companies to work for in the area.
