But in the aftermath of yesterday’s explosions, many acts of kindness have taken place. Runners finished the race and continued running to area hospitals to donate blood. Bostonians offered stranded runners and their families a place to stay. Restaurants provided runners and locals with free food.
In a spirit of solidarity, attendees at this Saturday’s Consumers Sunburst Run will observe a moment of silence for those affected by the Boston Marathon attack. A portion of the race’s proceeds will also be donated to support the victims.
The 4th Annual Consumers Sunburst Run takes place Saturday, April 20, 2013. This year’s event includes a 10K at 7:30 am and a 5K, which will begin at 9 am after a moment of silence for Boston Marathon victims. Following the main event, Kids 12 and under run free in the annual one-mile Family Fun Run, sponsored by the Marvin Okun Agency. This event supports our local community parks and family programs through the Oshtemo Friends of the Park.
