Walk MS: Each Step Closer to a World Free of MS

WalkMS_Logo_PAEConsumers Credit Union has supported the Walk MS event for many years because we want to help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and assist people with multiple sclerosis, a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. The funds raised in the event give hope to the more than 19,000 people living with MS in our community.

This year’s Walk MS will be held May 4 with the opening ceremony beginning at 9:45 am at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. 2013 marks Consumers’ fifth year as the site sponsor of the Kalamazoo event.

Walk MS brings together friends, families, and coworkers to embrace an important cause. Join us as we make a powerful statement to keep moving toward a cure. Each step we take along the three mile route brings us closer to a world free of MS. Last year alone, the National MS Society devoted $164 million to programs and services that assisted more than one million people affected by MS.

Walk MS 2012

In 2012, eight Consumers Credit Union employees took part in the walk and raised $2,200 in donations, ranking our team 40th in the top 100 Michigan teams for fundraising. This year the team has set a fundraising goal of $2,000.
