Target Data Breach Underscores Consumers Credit Union’s Focus on Member Security

On Thursday, Target announced a significant breach in their payments data, which may impact shoppers who made credit or debit card purchases in their stores from November 27 to December 15 of this year. In light of this announcement, Consumers Credit Union reassures members that your debit and credit cards are protected with the highest standards of fraud monitoring services. Visa and MasterCard are currently researching the extent of the data breach. Our Card Services team is working closely with them and our fraud monitoring service to minimize any effects on our members and will act accordingly as we learn more. In the meantime, if you are concerned that your cards may have been compromised, please regularly review your credit and debit transaction history and account statements and alert us to any irregularities. How Do I Reorder Checks Online?

At Consumers, we’re dedicated to empowering you with the tools you need to manage your finances the way you see fit. That’s why our Seriously Free Checking or Interest Checking accounts give you the option of making your payments conveniently via Instant Issue Debit Cards, Online and Mobile Bill Pay, or with traditional checks. Members often ask how they can reorder checks for themselves. It’s easy to do online! Simply log into Online Banking and select “Reorder Checks” from the “More Options” tab. On the next screen, select the checking account for which you would like to reorder checks (if you have more than one checking account) from the drop down menu. This will take you to the webpage of our check printer, Harland Clark, where you will see a preview of your new checks.
